Conference Theme

We invite groundbreaking contributions for the 75th Annual Workshops and Scientific Program of the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, themed Mind Unleashed.  As we celebrate this milestone, we welcome submissions exploring the dynamic intersections of hypnosis with other mind-body therapies, artificial intelligence (AI), hypnosis apps, psychedelics, and consciousness. Submit your research, insights, and innovations that push the boundaries of understanding and application in these transformative fields. We seek submissions on AI's role in hypnosis, the impact and efficacy of hypnosis apps, states of consciousness, renewed interest in psychedelics, mind-body interventions, and hypnosis and related states. Join us in advancing the conversation and unlocking new possibilities in healing and transformation.

Workshops

The Annual Conference includes Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced Workshops.  SCEH workshops teach participants hypnotic theory and practical techniques for immediate use in professional practice. Workshops are scientifically based and of the highest teaching quality. Most workshops include demonstrations and/or practica or other experiential components. Workshops meet accepted Standards of Training in Clinical Hypnosis and count toward SCEH Hypnosis Certification Programs. Please refer to the conference agendas listed below for complete details on the respective workshops.

Please refer to the Conference Program for the latest agendas.

  • Introductory (Basic) Workshop in Clinical Hypnosis - 3-day workshop - 20 CE/CME
This workshop is taken as a cohort and attendance for all three days is required to earn CE/CME.
The Introductory Workshop, taken as a cohort, follows established Standards of Training to provide attendees with a basic background and understanding to begin using hypnosis within the context of their scope of practice.

  • Intermediate Workshop - 3-day workshop - 20 CE/CME
This workshop is taken as a cohort and attendance for all three days is required to earn CE/CME.
The Intermediate Workshop, taken as a cohort, can be used toward SCEH certification or simply to refresh and expand hypnotic skills.

  • Advanced Workshops - Earn up to 22 CE/CME, depending on your workshop selections.
Advanced Workshops are designed for those who have completed Introductory and Intermediate level clinical hypnosis training. Advanced Workshop attendees select from concurrent sessions that best meet your needs. Total CE/CME earned will vary, depending on the sessions you select.

Scientific Program (SP)

The Scientific Program includes Keynotes, Symposia, Research Presentations and a Poster Session. Sessions address empirical issues in hypnosis research and practice and related areas. Research presentations shine the light on novel empirically based findings, including experimental studies, case reports, clinical trials, meta-analyses, and systematic reviews. Symposia bring together top-notch researchers as they critically discuss empirical findings pertaining to a specific theme of relevance to the hypnosis community. Many symposia integrate research and practice or draw upon research in psychology, psychiatry, or neuroscience to highlight issues that improve our understanding of hypnosis. Our poster session provides another glimpse into the latest research in the field. Please refer to the Conference Program for details on the Scientific Program, including an agenda and session descriptions. This is a two-day general session where you can earn 11.25 CE/CME.
